Thunder Down Under by sealle Thunder Down Under by sealle
OK So dressage. I was over drawing this by this picture... i think i tried to do too much and burnt out. So i went back to lineless but tried to retain the detail i had with the others. Also please excuse the background... i wanted to do something better but as i said.. i lost inspiration.

SO This is Harley and Wren performing their least favourite discipline in the 3DE. Wrens a bit light but she has a Thunder bolt sprayed in glitter on each side of her rump, and in keeping to the Aussie attitude they will be performing to an awesome Aussie band and one of my favourites.

AC/DC - Thunderstruck

sorry this is so random but I actually had a small 15.2hh bay warmblood gelding a few years back whose name was Thunder, registered name; Thunder Down Under and I had a freestyle compiled to AC/DC's Thunderstruck... I just had to post the coincidence :p
I also wanted to let you know that all 3 images that you've drawn are gorgeous and SO unique! Your an amazingly talented artist xo

Did you use any references for this perspective? I'm wanting to do a 'looking up' shot for my dressage entry so I can get RPS's new underwater ceiling.

Haha i think a lot of fun angles are going to be around this year to get the ceiling. I used 4 or 5 refs i think. Those were mainly at the sketching stage to get the perspective a little better. I cant remember where i got them, but i didn't use one in particular.

Sorry i am not much help, but i think there are a few floating around. Good Luck!

You've been totally blowing me away with these entries, Frankie x_x Even though this one is lined it still reminds me very much of your lineless ones, and I can tell you put a ton of effort into it even though I know you were crunched for time.

First off, the angle and perspective is so cool. I admire your bravery, not only did you choose a perspective that would have had me throwing my tablet pen, but even her angle is difficult, not a profile view, but freaking 3/4ths!! The shading is beautiful, and you added just enough shine to her grey coat. Greys are difficult for me in that aspect because they don't pick up as much shinies, and I know how we both love our shinies. But this one has a very nice balance of lights and darks. I think my favorite shaded areas are her flank, or her pectorals, they have a really nice 3D view to them, just like the rest of her.

The arena sand is something that I really like as well, the texture in it is perfect, and she looks really grounded. The whole bg ties in nicely, and I like how you have it slightly blurred to focus the attention on the two of them. As always, I admire her tail, it looks lovely catching the light and flayed out with pretty strands flying everywhere. I guess the only CC I have on this, although it's very minute and wouldn't change a whole lot, is that I think adding more color into Wren's coat would have really made her pop. I think we discussed it some already, though, and you were running out of time since school was demanding your attention so you didn't get to do everything you wanted to.

Anyways, this is freaking amazing and an absolute pleasure to look at. I've just been staring at it for the past few minutes looking at all the details :XD: Great job, Frankie, you should be very proud of yourself!
