Call me funny but one of my favorite things about this picture is that FINALLY someone drew something for a contest like these and the reins aren't strangling the horse's mouth. Love this series overall though.
XD haha i normally have good contact on the reins in my image though i try not to have too much tension in them.
I guess most people do it as it is easy to throw down some straight lines than it is figuring out how they would twist and turn XD its and interesting trend.
I suppose I cringe so much because I would imagine people draw horses like they would ride horses. But again like you said, straight lines would be easier lines. Often when I look at the images it looks like tension rather than good contact. Who knows, I just like this one.
Yea, i do worry about some things i see but i do think its just convenience. I am glad you like this one, i do try and draw looser reins when the image allows it.
OMG, this is the coolest show jumping view ever!!!!!! I haven't even seen a view like this in real life. Now I must google to see if i can find one!. So cool!
